Good afternoon,
After discussing the proposed use, it all depends on how much manufacturing he is actually
doing. If is just assembling the parts and ammunition (and volume), it may be considered Light
Manufacturing, which would require Conditional Use Permit. If it is more intensive
manufacturing, which would not be allowed.

My apologies as I meant to include this earlier, but I don’t believe this licensee
has ever manufactured any firearms under this license based on the pre-
inspection report. He may have manufactured ammunition though, I don’t
know and won’t find out until I start his inspection and interview him.

Yes, the report from 2018 mentioned no zoning restrictions and no county business permit
were required. As part of the compliance inspection I’m wanting to confirm this is still
accurate.

The parcel in question is zoned General Commercial. You mentioned that the FFL was issued
in 2018, was it for the same parcel? I did not see anything in our records. I will need to confirm
if the use would be allowed, require a use permit, or not allowed at all.

Good morning,
In preparation for a routine compliance inspection on an entity (Advanced
Building & Metal Fabrication Inc) that holds a Type 07 Manufacturer of
Firearms License (FFL), I am emailing your agency to determine if the
manufacture of firearms and ammunition are allowable uses (per zoning
regulations) from the following premises: 2810 Highway 32, Chico, CA
95973? Can you please advise on how this location is zoned as well (i.e.,
industrial, commercial, etc) and whether a county business license is required?
This FFL was issued in 2018 and as part of that qualification inspection
process, there were no zoning restrictions at that time.
