Please record my public comment in opposition to this Cenergy project as I feel there are other ways to bring Solar
energy. The County knows this, look at County Center Drive in Oroville. There are many rooftops, parking lots and
infill locations that could house solar panels creating a dual purpose of making shade as well as energy. Our open
lands need to be protected not exploited for big industry profits. There needs to be public forum before allowing a
project of this scale. Our natural resources must be valued and all conservation efforts must be discussed prior to any
issuance of permits or industrial project planning is allowed. Progress has many sides to it. The local community
must have a seat at the table, if the County and Cities are hosting big business.
Our County and City representatives serve the constituents and must listen to their views and not only act to serve
financial interests of big business. The Board of Supervisors must pay attention to any efforts to greenwash and rush
through projects especially in this current state of our nation.Whether it is a mega solar farm in Chico or a Biomass
Plants in Oroville , we cannot afford to sell out our Butte County environment, due diligence is required and takes
extra work. Please take the time to pause, review and listen to the valid concerns of your constituents. We all live
here.
