FIRE What can a small group of committed people accomplish when they refuse to give up? In this
clip from the Allison Inquiry’s closing statements, Shawn Buckley and MP Dean Allison reflect on
the effort behind bringing the Inquiry to life and creating an opportunity for Covid-19 vaccine-
injured Canadians to share their experiences. What began with a small number of people willing to
step forward became a national initiative dedicated to listening, documenting testimony, and
ensuring these experiences were preserved in the public record. The Allison Inquiry was made
possible by determination, sacrifice, and the contributions of people who believed these stories
deserved to be heard. Their work demonstrates what can happen when ordinary Canadians come
together around a shared purpose. A small group can make a difference far beyond its numbers. The
work of listening, bearing witness, and ensuring these stories are not forgotten continues. Individual
